Mountain Red Hosts Vietnamese CEO

The Asia NZ Foundation brought Mr. Le Danh Hoang (Hoang) to New Zealand to introduce him to the health and nutrition sector of New Zealand.  One of the companies he visited during his trip was Mountain Red Ltd, a Nelson based nutraceutical company specialising in premium quality Deer Velvet products.  Hoang is CEO of Nutri Next Nutrition and his company produces a range of traditional Vietnamese and Chinese health and nutrition products for premium markets, which aligns well to the Mountain Red philosophies of sustainability, traceability and purity of product.

Hoang, and Paula from the Asia NZ Foundation, met with CEO Karen Morley and company Director Campbell Berry-Kilgour out at the Redwood Hills farm in Redwoods Valley. Here Hoang got to meet up close and personal the deer that produce the Mountain Red Deer Velvet. Ms. Morley believes that Mountain Red Deer Velvet is the highest quality therapeutic deer velvet product available anywhere in the world. “Our family has farmed Red Deer for 30 years and our completely sustainable process ensures animal welfare is never compromised. We use minimal processing, creating a product that is free of drugs, chemicals, additives and preservatives, with a fully sustainable and traceable product back to individual farms.”  These are the principals that impressed Hoang who has very similar business values. He was also very impressed with the fact that after a number of years of development Mountain Red Deer Velvet has been approved as a therapeutic product by the Australian TGA.

Although the day was wet and the farm muddy, both parties enjoyed sharing their business stories, successes and options for future opportunities.
